Launch of New Good Practice Snapshot – Concessionary TV Licences

Everybody, regardless of age, needs a TV licence to (on any device and through any provider):

  • Watch or record live TV programmes on any channel
  • Download or watch any BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand

In 2020 there were changes to concessionary TV licences for people over 75. Since then, everyone over 75 has to pay for their TV licence unless they are eligible for a free license or a discount.
