This foundational course is the ideal starting point for all things related to Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs). It covers the key principles of the DFG process, providing a clear understanding of how the grant works and the roles involved. This course has been tailored specifically for staff working within the housing for older people sector, as well as a housing association audience, with specific guidance on enhancing processes and practices for tenants.

Suitable For:

This course is designed for DFG practitioners, particularly those working with tenants in the housing for older people sector. It is also relevant for professionals working at a strategic level to develop policies in line with legal practices. If your role requires a basic understanding of the Disabled Facilities Grant, this course will provide the essential knowledge you need.

Course Objectives:

· Understand the DFG rules and regulations to ensure legal compliance.

· Increase confidence in supporting residents around the Disabled Facilities Grant.

· Explore innovative methods of delivering assistance to tenants in line with national best practices.

· Gain an understanding of adaptations for common parts, including communal areas in sheltered housing schemes.

This course is only open to erosh members and ILS registered members. There are a maximum of 20 places available.
