Anti‑Racism Matters: Let’s Talk, Listen and Learn Together
In our sheltered housing and independent living communities, every conversation is a chance to build understanding. This session will explain what anti-racism means and will give practical tips to help you to support older residents to talk openly, share experiences, and learn how to navigate this subject with confidence and kindness. Because feeling heard and feeling safe matters.
Join us to explore how small conversations can make a big difference. Together, we can create a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and included. By taking part, you can help shape a future built on dignity, empathy, and understanding.
Evelyn, who leads Tai Pawb’s efforts to combat all forms of racial discrimination and promote equality in the Welsh housing sector as part of the Welsh Government’s Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan (ARWAP) will be faciliating the session. She is responsible for driving forward the Tai Pawb “Deeds Not Words” pledge, which advocates for equitable housing rights for ethnic minorities and individuals facing racial discrimination.
(Tai Pawb works to advance equality and social justice in housing in Wales. They are an expert team of dedicated and value driven staff and board members. They are a membership organisation who work with their members, policymakers, and communities to eliminate discrimination and advance inclusive practices. Through training, resources, collaboration, influencing and advocacy, they work towards a housing environment where diversity thrives).
