erosh Sussex & Kent Network Meeting Summary

The latest Sussex & Kent regional network meeting brought together housing professionals to discuss some of the key challenges and developments affecting older people’s and supported housing across the region.

Discussions focused on ongoing funding pressures, the need for suitable and affordable accommodation, and the challenges of maintaining and improving existing housing stock while meeting increasingly complex regulatory requirements.

Members also explored the changing expectations of older residents, particularly the balance between independent living, lifestyle choices and increasing care and support needs. The importance of ensuring that suitable housing options are available for those wishing to downsize was highlighted.

The meeting also considered wider regional developments, including local government reorganisation and the importance of collaboration across the supported housing sector.

An erosh update covered developments in professional qualifications, the organisation’s website and plans to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for members to share experiences, discuss common challenges and strengthen connections across the region.
