Member good practice events



Members can access bitesize lunchtime workshops which typically last 45 minutes and will be are presented by experienced colleagues in the areas covered.

We aim to cover a wide range of subjects through the year with a minimum of one event each month. Sessions will cover topical and important areas, as well as focus on new good practice guides.

Older People and Sexual Violence

New Pathways

This workshop shines a light on the often‑overlooked issue of sexual abuse experienced by older people. Delivered by New Pathways, Wales’ largest specialist sexual violence support provider. It helps professionals recognise risks and barriers, understand trauma, and respond safely and appropriately. The session also covers consent, definitions of sexual violence and the role of Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC), supporting better awareness and outcomes for older victims.

Help staff understand and maintain clear professional boundaries in their day‑to‑day roles. Explore what professional boundaries are, the risks of blurred lines, how to establish appropriate limits, and how to recognise and respond to boundary crossings. The session supports staff to work safely, confidently and consistently while maintaining positive, professional relationships with residents.
