We’re delighted to welcome Robin MacIntosh and Ian Hembrow to the erosh team, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion for improving housing and support services for older people. 💚
Robin MacIntosh joins us as Practice and Standards Director. A CIH-qualified housing professional with more than 30 years’ experience, Robin has worked across supported housing and housing for older people, combining senior leadership with operational and strategic expertise. His work has spanned housing providers, local authorities, care providers and partner organisations, with a strong focus on service improvement, best practice and education.

We are delighted to welcome Duncan and Louise to the erosh Board of Trustees, bringing with them a wealth of experience across social housing, supported and sheltered housing, governance and community engagement.
Louise who is the current Head of Housing & Support at Transform Housing & Support has spent more than 35 years working in supported and sheltered housing, with a career grounded in ensuring people feel safe, listened to and well supported in their homes. She is passionate about reliable, high-quality services and about working alongside residents, colleagues and partners to understand what people need from the services they rely on.
Never give up on older people

That is the message we are taking from Never Give Up Day this year, and it reflects a commitment that has been at the heart of erosh for more than 30 years.
We believe older people deserve housing and support that enables them to live well, maintain their independence, stay connected to their communities and make their own choices about the way they live.
What does great independent living support look like, and how can you demonstrate it?

The erosh Independent Living Services (ILS) Accreditation provides a recognised quality mark for services committed to delivering high standards for older people.
Accreditation gives organisations the opportunity to reflect on their service, demonstrate good practice and identify where they can continue to improve, with a focus on areas including resident involvement, planning, support and managing risks, safety and wellbeing, safeguarding and tackling loneliness and isolation, as well as continuous improvement.
Awaab’s Law Phase 2 is coming, and the scope is getting significantly wider - what preparations are you doing as a provider?

From 30th November 2026, Awaab’s Law will extend beyond damp and mould to cover a much broader range of significant hazards in social homes.
Alongside damp and mould, Phase 2 brings the following hazards into scope where they present a significant risk of harm:

That is why erosh has worked in partnership with Kingdom Academy to develop two CIH qualifications specifically for people working in independent living, sheltered housing, retirement housing and housing with care. Supporting residents to live independently starts with understanding their needs, recognising potential risks and responding appropriately when circumstances change. As the role of front-line staff continues to evolve, having the confidence to assess needs and facilitate the right support has never been more important.
