🌈 Pride Month provides a brilliant opportunity to recognise the rich diversity of older people living in our communities and the importance of creating services where everyone feels a genuine sense of belonging
At erosh, we believe people should be able to age with dignity, confidence and the freedom to be themselves. For us, creating inclusive communities is not an additional piece of work. It is integral to delivering a great provision. Inclusivity is not a topic for a one month marketing campaign, but a commitment that should shape every community that is created and every service delivered.
That's why we are currently working with Tai Pawb to update our Good Practice Guide on LGBTQ+ Older People in the Independent Living Sector. The updated guide will help organisations strengthen their understanding of LGBTQ+ older people's experiences and ensure services continue to evolve to meet the needs of the communities they support.
Inclusion is often found in the everyday moments. Feeling comfortable talking about your partner. Seeing yourself reflected in community activities and communications. Knowing staff understand and respect your experiences. Feeling that you belong.
For erosh members, the current guide is available to download from our member resources. If you're not yet a member, get in touch to discover the wealth of practical resources, guidance and support available through membership.
Great independent living is about helping people live well, live independently and live as themselves 🌈
