New research from Lancaster University , funded by Marie Curie UK, is exploring how earlier access to palliative care specialists in Emergency Departments could improve outcomes for people approaching the end of their lives.

It is an important piece of research that highlights a much wider issue: ensuring people receive the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

Within older people’s housing, scheme staff can also find themselves supporting residents, families and wider communities through end-of-life experiences and bereavement.
