This session on sexual violence awareness aims to:
- Explore myths and stereotypes
- Define sexual violence, including stalking and non-fatal strangulation
- The importance of consent
- The impact of sexual violence on individuals
- Barriers to disclosure
- Working in a trauma informed way
- Vicarious trauma
The course is suitable for those working in independent living/sheltered housing settings in a supporting capacity with anyone who may have experienced sexual violence.
