LGTBQ+ Older People | Monitoring and Communication

Despite greater acceptance driven by legislative change, there is still a lack of evidence about LGBTQ+ people and their needs. Monitoring of sexual orientation and trans status is fundamental and should be fully integrated into customer profiling as it is now with age, race and gender.

Sexual orientation is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010 and to comply, organisations must demonstrate they take into account the needs of LGB staff and customers.
