We'll support you all the way to ensure that you are ready to undertake the assessment process.

When you register for the Independent Living Standards, we will provide you with all the information you need including a list of the key policies and other documentation you will need to have in place.

To stand the best chance of becoming an accredited provider, you need some fundamental ‘building blocks’ in place which we have listed below.

We are clear about the purpose of the service, its mission, and
client group(s)
Our service is accessible and value for money, outcome focused
and person centred
We comply with relevant legislation, regulation and good practice
We can demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity
We can demonstrate commitment to quality assurance and
continuous improvement
We work in partnership with a range of different organisations
We have robust policies and procedures in place which are
regularly reviewed
We have in place robust support planning and risk assessment
processes
We induct, train and develop, and support our staff
We have clear complaints and appeals processes
We have a robust governance structure which is regularly
reviewed
We actively and meaningfully involve customers
We keep our customers, families and carers well informed
We safeguard our customers
We have a nominated Lead Officer to take us
through the accreditation process
