Members are encouraged to come forward with examples of good practice in using volunteers to deliver older people’s housing and support. Here, our chief executive outlines what she is looking for:
I am particularly interested in your responses to the following:
- Do you use volunteers? If so, how many?
- Is this as well as ‘regular’ support staff or instead of ‘regular’ support staff?
- Have you always used volunteers or are you doing so (or increasing the numbers) in order to reduce costs?
- What kind of training do you provide for volunteers?
- What are the advantages of using volunteers?
- What are the disadvantages of using volunteers?
- Anything else you would like to share with us? Good practice examples would be particularly welcome.
