Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, sex or sexual orientation, disability, race or religion. Older people are just as likely to experience domestic abuse as their younger counterparts as well as the same range of abusive behaviours and severity of abuse but are under-recognised in policy and practice and in domestic abuse service provision.

Housing providers need to provide sufficient support for older adults experiencing, have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse.
