Sheltered Housing Officer Caerphilly County Borough Council

Job Status: Grade 6 £28,598 - £31,022 Full time, permanent posts

Caerphilly Borough Council are recruiting 2 Sheltered Housing Officers to work within the Older Persons Housing Team delivering housing related support across 32 sheltered housing schemes. The role also involves effective on-site scheme management and responding to emergency calls as required.

The successful candidate will undertake and review support plans, signpost to other agencies, monitor wellbeing, encourage social interaction and ensure compliance with health and safety. You will be supporting to deliver a service which enables residents to live independently and safely as well as working with other housing teams to carry out appropriate housing management.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales , or a National Certificate in Supported Housing.
  • An Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and Supporting People legislation
  • A commitment to providing a high quality customer care service.
  • A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to respond to any issues in a sheltered housing scheme.

Trustees erosh

Job Status: Part-time

Do you feel passionately about good quality housing and services for older people? Can you contribute to our organisation and make a real difference? We are always looking for new trustees to join our active, friendly and committed board of trustees and help us achieve our goals. Read about the role here.

We are also looking for a trustee to fulfil the role of Treasurer with finance or accountancy experience.

Knowledge of or interest in the social housing sector and/or older people’s housing and support would be a bonus. All roles are voluntary with a commitment of about 1 day a month including quarterly board meetings.  Erosh is a small charity with part-time staff so you will have opportunities to get involved in all aspects of our work.
