The national consortium of older people’s housing and support (erosh) has appointed two new leading housing professionals to head-up the organisation.
Rebecca Mollart, a freelance consultant providing training and academic services to the housing sector, has been appointed chief executive after holding the post of director of policy since January 2011; Jon Head, who has been an erosh trustee since 2012, is now chair.
These new appointments are part of a restructure at the charity which has seen the creation of a new chief executive post to oversee the growth and strategic direction of the organisation.
Rebecca Mollart said: “I am delighted to take on the role of chief executive of erosh. In spite of the challenges facing today’s older people’s housing and support sector, our recent Innovation & Good Practice Awards and our growing membership show that there is still a huge commitment to continuous improvement and positive practice, as well as the need for a central place where individuals and organisations can access practical, cost effective advice and support.”
“Erosh continues to evolve in line with changes to the sector and we have adapted our membership offer to meet the needs of providers of housing and support to older people in any setting. This includes our unique Policy & Practice Portal which provides a variety of practical resources to help members continue to provide quality services to older people as well as our local networks which continue to go from strength to strength.
“I very much look forward to working with Jon and the other trustees to lead, develop and promote erosh with a focus on increasing member services, recruiting new members and continuing to champion and lobby for quality housing and support for older people.”
Jon Head becomes chair, following Domini Gunn, who is stepping down after two years in the role. Jo McTavish, long-standing trustee and former chair of erosh, takes on the role of vice-chair.
Jon Head, freelance consultant and trainer in older people’s housing and support, said: “It is a great privilege to have been appointed as chair of erosh. I am looking forward to working with my fellow trustees and Rebecca.
“Erosh is continuing through a period of exciting change both as an organisation and for the sector. Through our various activities, such as our popular regional network meetings, we are engaging with more and more providers to work together during a time of significant challenge. Erosh’s ethos is to share and champion good practice so the sector thrives and meets the needs of our ageing population. We are continuing to be at the forefront of promoting good practice in partnership with our members and stakeholders.”
Five new trustees have also been appointed:
Robin Deane, Amicus Horizon
Louise Cox, Accent Peerless
Ying Hu, Treasury Advisory, also takes on the role of Treasurer
Lois Nicks, Hanover HA
Roger Clough, Woodlands Quaker Homes
