On 30 September at a prestigious online event, erosh was awarded a Welsh Housing Award for Excellence in Championing Equality and Diversity for its good practice guide on LGBTQ+ Older People and Sheltered and Retirement Housing. This award recognises organisations leading on promoting equality and diversity in their business, who are driving positive, meaningful change, and who are contributing to building a truly inclusive community.
Rebecca Mollart (CEO) commented:
“We are delighted with this award for our good practice guide on LGBTQ+ Older People and Sheltered and Retirement Housing which we are particularly proud of. Our guide focuses on making sheltered and retirement housing more inclusive to the LGBTQ+ community and LGBTQ+ affirming. We are grateful for Riverside for supporting the development of our guide, and Chris Thomas from Trivallis, and Ross Thomas from Tai Pawb for helping us with the content. ‘You can’t change attitudes but you can change behaviour’ is a well known expression but if through our guide we can bring about some positive changes in the behaviour of organisations and individuals, we might end up changing some attitudes along the way.”
